The contract between you and us.

1. What Foliom is

Foliom is a personal money tracker. It reads financial messages from your Gmail (with your consent), processes uploaded Consolidated Account Statement (CAS) PDFs (optional), and shows you a unified view of your accounts, spending, holdings, and calendar of upcoming financial events.

What Foliom is not: Foliom is not a SEBI-registered investment advisor, stockbroker, mutual fund distributor, or research analyst. Nothing in the app constitutes investment advice, a recommendation, a research report, or a solicitation to buy or sell any security. Nudges and summaries are informational, generated from your own data, and intended to help you think, not to be acted upon without your own judgment or professional advice.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You must be a resident of India (we expand later).
• You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under Indian law.
• You must use the service for your own personal finances, not on behalf of another person without their written permission and your nominee designation (see Privacy Policy).

3. Your account

• Sign in is via Google (through Clerk). We never see your Google password.
• You are responsible for the security of the device you sign in from. Use a screen lock. Sign out of shared devices.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the service, or engage in fraud.

4. Consent and processing

Foliom only reads your Gmail or processes your CAS after you grant separate, explicit consent for each. You can withdraw any consent at any time in Settings · Privacy. Withdrawal stops future processing under that consent but does not require us to undo prior processing.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Foliom for unlawful purposes.
• Attempt to access another user's account or data.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or automate Foliom in ways that violate fair use or burden our infrastructure.
• Upload malware, phishing content, or any data that infringes someone else's rights.
• Use Foliom's AI outputs as a basis for advice you give to others without your own qualified review.

6. Payments and refunds

• Free tier is free. Paid tiers (Pro, Family) are billed by Razorpay in INR.
• A 7-day free trial applies once per user.
• Cancel anytime from Settings · Billing. Cancellation stops the next renewal; the current period continues to its end.
• We do not pro-rate refunds mid-period. If we materially break the service, contact us for a discretionary refund.
• Taxes (GST) are charged where applicable.

7. Intellectual property

Foliom's code, design, brand, and content are owned by us. You retain ownership of your data and of anything you create with Foliom (notes, goals, nudge rules). You grant us a limited licence to host, process, and display your data solely to provide the service.

8. AI outputs and limitations

Foliom uses large language models (currently Anthropic Claude and OpenAI GPT) to produce summaries, briefings, and answers. These models can hallucinate, misinterpret, or omit important facts. Treat all AI output as a starting point, not ground truth. Verify amounts and dates against the source before acting on anything financially material. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of AI outputs.

9. Service availability

We try to keep Foliom available 24/7 but do not promise any specific uptime. We may take the service offline for maintenance, security work, or vendor failures. We will give advance notice when we can.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, Foliom's total liability to you for any claim arising out of the service is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or ₹2,000, whichever is greater. Foliom is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost data, or missed financial opportunities.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Foliom against any claim made by a third party arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the service, or your unlawful use of any data you upload.

12. Termination

• You can terminate by deleting your account in Settings · Privacy. We hard-delete your data within 24 hours of the grace window ending.
• We can terminate your account on 30 days' notice for any reason, or immediately for material breach. Pre-paid fees for the unused portion will be refunded except where terminated for breach.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru (Karnataka). Before going to court, both sides agree to attempt a good-faith resolution by email for at least 30 days, and then mediation under the Mediation Act, 2023 if useful.

14. Changes to these Terms

If we make a material change, we will email you at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continued use after that date is acceptance. Non-material changes (typos, clarifications) are effective immediately and noted in the version date above.
