Your money data, handled carefully.
Foliom only works if you trust it with your inbox, so we've built it to deserve that. No vague promises — here is exactly what we do and don't do with your data, in plain English.
Read-only access to your inbox
Foliom asks for read-only access. It can read the financial emails you already receive — it cannot send, delete, move, or change anything. We never ask for your bank or broker password, and you can disconnect anytime. When you delete your account, we revoke Foliom's access to your Google account entirely.
Your email content is never stored
Foliom reads an email, pulls out the few data points it needs — amount, date, merchant — and discards the rest. We do not keep the body of your emails. Even the subject line is redacted in our records. There is no copy of your inbox sitting on a server waiting to leak.
Your sensitive details are encrypted
Identifiers like your PAN, date of birth and demat (BO) ID are encrypted with a key unique to you (AES-256-GCM envelope encryption), so they're unreadable at rest — even to us. Balances and categories live on an encrypted, managed database so the app can actually do your math.
Delete means deleted
Delete your account and we destroy your personal encryption key. That instantly crypto-shreds your encrypted data and revokes Foliom's access to your inbox. Real erasure, built with India's DPDP Act in mind — not a 'we'll get to it' toggle.
You're the customer, not the product
Foliom is a paid subscription. We don't sell your data, we don't share it with advertisers, and we don't run ads. Our only incentive is to keep your trust — because that's what you're paying for.
